Evinrude 250 ETEC on Puma

It seems that most are running Mercury engines on their Pumas. If anyone has firsthand knowledge of the performance characteristics of the Evinrude 250 HO as compared to the Mercury 250 on the Bass Cat Puma, please provide information on top speed differences and reliability differnces between the two engines. Spinner Bait Skirts

Thought I would show these off over here also. I have some New 3 colored spinner baits skirts that are fixing to hit the market. Look pretty awesome. Found the slow leak....still need help

Thanks to the Basscat Staff referal I filled up the back of my boat with water and seem to have found the leak in my boat.

It is the bottom two transom bolts on my jack plate. I noticed one was leaking and wrenched it. The bolt as well as the nut spun rather easily.

-When I tighten the bolts should I silicone them?
-If so....Should I silicone them on the inside or the outside? And what type of silicone is recommended?
-Is there a general rule of thumb on how hard...

TRANSOM SUPPORT

Here's a question for everyone,what type of transom support do you guys prefer,the one with the yoke that go's around the rear roller and supports the lower end,or the the short one that clips into the motor mount holes and supports it in the center on the motor.I'm using the short one and I'm curious to know if there are any issues with these,seems to support the engine quite well.And are quick and easy to R&R.

Hey guys,
Im trying to get a loan on a 2005 Puma from Eric Flannery out in AZ. The boat is immaculate and priced right for me. Only prob is that dang bank is saying its not worth near what Im trying to buy it for???? The dont know what they are doing Im sure. They try and tell me the 05 Puma with the 225 Evinrude is worth 19,600 at the most. They will loan me the money but at a crazy interest rate! Any advice guys? Thanks

95 pantera 2 livewell Aerator location????

A couple of days ago my livewell aerator stopped working so i replaced the cartridge for what i thought was the livewell pump but was actually the re-circ pump. So i tried to follow hoses to where i thought the aerator pump might be and i think it is the one that is closest to the plug in the sump area, is this correct. I checked every pump by turning them on and that was the one that i didnt hear turn on

My livewell wasn't hold water when traveling down the lake. The switch was in the "auto" position. I found out that the cable end had broken at the switch end. There is a cable adjustment there. It may have been tightened too hard. I also took the Flowrite valve apart to see how it works. I wasn't very impressed with it's construction. It's pretty cheaply constructed. From time to time I leave my boat tied up overnight at my boat slip. When I go to check my batteries, there is always a nerve racking ammount of water in my gas tank/battery compartment. The water level after one evening (Without Rain) gets about a quarter of the way up the batteries. My boat slip is not in an area where boat wakes or wind could blow water into the boat.

battery question

someone told me that the yamaha hpdi and the mercury xs and optis need a 1000 cca battery for them to perform right. something about the electronics on the motors like a bigger powered battery. is this true? if so mine came from the dealership with a 550 cca and i am going to upgrade. my yamaha book says that 500 or so is the minimum requirements and that is all it says.
