Stick with a Bass Cat they are a solid company that backs there product. Rumor has it that Gen Mar might cut the Champion line next year.

In my opinion the PIV rides better than a Champion. I can't tell a difference between my former 206 Champion and my partners PIV. That PIV is a great rough
water ride and fishes bigger than a 19' boat. Phil is correct they are slugs. I had a Yamaha VZ 250 with 18" of set back on a 206 Champ and could only
get 71 out of it on a good day. Genmar is a large boat building company and in these tough times they are looking to trim the fat. If Champion is not turning a
profit they may get the ax. Then what happens to the warranty and resale value?

My partner has a 198 it does have a good ride but you will get wet. Champions are not aggressive boats in my opinion. They are a slow boat at the top in
and in turns. If you want a good riding boat and a fast boat with quick turns get yourself a Puma FTD with a 250 Mercury Pro XS. Best boat I've been in
hands down. Was in a Skeeter Monday felt like I was going to go through the deck at any time.
