I have a 98 200 efi Mariner. Today.....alarm would go off....not steady....but kinda like oscillating. Would not happen at idle. Only happened at take off
and on plane. Every time. Checked oil reservoir on block...was full. I suspect something related to oil injection system.....but not sure.

Water in the fuel in the separator filter on the engine. On that 1998 model you can remove the sensor at the bottom and capture the fluid in a cup. You should
find water in there.
