What is the best florocarbon in your opinion??? |
Lead | |
|
I have used just about every brand i can think of.... So far Seaguar invizx is the best i have used... I like BPS XPS its good but wont cast quite as far as
the Seaguar. Vicious is good in the larger sizes 17lb and up but the 12 was a ltiile to wired for me. P line was decent. I mostly use floro crankin and
anything but top water. Mostly 8, 12 and 15 or 17 lb test. Whats works best for yall especially in a 12lb test size. Im just trying to find whats working good
before i buy a couple of bulk spools.

I'm going back to regular mono and saving my money. I tried it for the better part of two years and I think it not as good as the old stuff. I was
interested in it because I fish mostly clear water as its supposed to be invisible. My catch rates have not improved. I pulled out a combo that I haven't
used for quite a while with my old mono and it was stronger than some of the floro I had just put on a few weeks earlier! I guess they have to come out with
something new and IMPROVED every year! Just my .02 , Neil.

Spiderwire Fluorocarbon.........also Spiderwire braids. Not that I am sponsored by Spiderwire anymore(quit tournament fishing 9 yrs ago), it's just that
Spiderwire is a product I have complete confidence in. But everyone will voice their own preferences. The discussion goes on..........

I've had good success with Seaguar Red Lable. I've used 10# on a shaky and 20# for traps and swim bait and it has done well. Inexpensive as well
compared to the others.

I've using mainly Seagar carbon pro. It's stronger and more abrasion resistant that any of the other flouros i've tried.

Here is the thing Seaguar is the only line mfg that makes and extrudes thier own fishing line. Many mfg do one or the other, but they do both. I use Seaguar
Red lable for most applications, Abraz X for flipping heavy clean water or in Florida fishing.
Before you buy your next spool of flouracarbon you need to open a spool of red lable and fell the th eline with your hands. Just try it! |

What is the best in terms of castability and making long casts... Thats what i like. I havent tried carbon pro but the invizx will cast pretty good. I may
order a small spool of the new abazx has anyone tried it yet? I tried the red label and i could tell a difference it wasnt a huge difference but its a little
larger diamater and is a little more tempermentail. I just spooled up some p line halo PA i am goin to give it one more try this weekend. I am willing to give
up a little strenght for more castability i dont mind re tying often if the performance is better.

I sell fishing lines and the Invisx is by far getting best reviews. I personally only have had luck with 8lbs and smaller. Try the sufix deep crankin mono if
you dont want to keep trying expensive lines,Casts as good as any line ive thrown

10-4 will try that and palomar is the only knot i use with floro.

has anyone used the yo-zuri hybird. I have been using it for about 9 months and love it. It is a fluorocarbon coated nylon.

Invisx 15lb has the same diameter as others 12lb. Coupled with some reel magic and it will cast a mile. Not quite as abrasion resistant but excellent line. Red
Label was fine as well but the invisx is much smoother.

I'm a big fan of Sunline, though you have to take out a second mortgage to buy it; therefore, I rarely throw it expect for when it really counts, if you
know what I mean.

I have tried BPS, P-Line, Seaguar C-Pro, Invis X and Abrais X. Didn't have much luck with the BPS line in year #2 (manuacturer changed I believe), P-Line
or the Invis X. Really like the C-Pro, love the Abrais X. The Abrais X is a bit more castable than the C-Pro, but just as abraision resistent. I found the
Invis X to be less abrasion resistent than both the C-Pro and the Abrais X. To me, BPS has good line some years, not so good others. Just depends on who is
making it for them. P-Line 100% fluorocarbon didn't work for me at all. I have heard good things about Trilene, but it costs more than Seaguar.
I bought 3 bottles of KVD spray about a year after I started using C-Pro. Throwing a Buzzbait one evening on 15lb C-Pro, kept getting those little loops you get when throwing a Buzzbait. Sprayed some KVD on it (first time I had used it), started throwing the Buzzbait about 10 yards on the bank. It made that big of a difference with just one application. I typically spray all my non braid reels the night before a trip with KVD spray, don't have to worry about it during the trip.

I have used the Yo-Zuri Hybrid line. Good crankbait line, casts smooth, not as abraision resistent as the 2 Seaguar products I mentions above (IMO). To me it
is similar to the P-Line Fluroclear product.

Floroclear or any other flourocarbon coated line is not the same as pure flourocarbon.

Agreed, I like it for crankbaiting for that reason. It is more castable than fluorocarbon, retains some of the properties of fluorocarbon, but doesn't have
the abraision resistence that makes a 100% fluorcarbon line what it is. Also, I haven't tried the P-Line Halo, just their 100% fluorocarbon line. And I did
ask P-Line about it in an email, recieved a reply from the President of P-Line and they replaced the 100% fluorcarbon I had left with Floroclear. I was
surprised that they did that. Not everyone fishes the same way, what doesn't work for me, may work for others. What works for me, may not for others. For
me, Abrais X is the best, but I do use the Floroclear copolomar for crankbaits and jerkbaits. The Yo-Zuri Hybrid line is very similar to the Floroclear as I
have used it in the past as well.
