I have a question about a cable that looks to be coming out of the battery charger. It looks to be a CAT-5 network cable, is this cable used for a remote
battery indicator?

Yes it is used for remote indicator. Make sure these wires are tied up and not left laying in the bilge. Water can cause you problems with your charger.
