I asked this on the prop board and not sure I got answer to my question. I currently have 25" Tempest Plus with 1 plug out and 2 large plugs in at about 3
1/4" below the pad. Hole shot while good is by no means great. So far that's the best way it has run. Am going to try a 25" Trophy Plus and
trying to get an idea if the rpm's would go down? and if the Trophy should be run slightly lower or higher than the Tempest? PVS plugs in or out and should
blowout ring be used? Next, do you think the hole shot should improve? Not too worried about top end although been told should be about 1-2 mph slower. Sorry
for all the questions but have never got this set up right....thanks for any help...

You might try 24 Fury instead, though we recommended a 25 Trophy on your rig.

Hey Bob. I think we talked before about some of these issues, but you will probably get more responses here.
Hole shot = better with trophy Top speed = 1-2 mph slower with trophy I think trophy's run a little lower on jackplate usually. Not sure about RPM's - Mine was about the same for 25M, 25 tempest, 25 trophy PVS and blowout ring - Get it set up for top speed first, then add/remove plugs or ring as needed to adjust for best holeshot. Maybe some others will add to this. I've still got the 25 Trophy for sale if you are interested. Good luck with your setup. Kent |

Hello Bob, I have both of the props which you are talking about. The only advantage I find with the 25 temptest that I have found is ease of loading when
fishing by yourself. Other wise, the 25 trophy is a great all around prop for our rigs. ( I have a 2001 Classic). I run my Temptest with all the holes wide
open. No plugs needed on this one. With the Trophy I run with two holes wide open and the 3/8th plugs in the other two. Hole shot is pretty good with this set
up.
You are correct in saying the Trophy usually runs a little lower. I run my Trophy about 1/2 lower than my Temptest. As far as top end, I have not seen the 1-2 mph drop in top speed that you guys are talking about. My boat runs about the same with both props. But, the handling, hole shot and rough water performance go to the Trophy. It also seems that I may get a little better Gas mileage with the Trophy. I like running my temptest when I'm by myself because I don't have to worry about loading the boat. You will find you motor will bog when loading with the trophy which means you have to have the trailer backed in perfectly to properly load your boat. I haven't run a Fury yet, but I want to get my hands on a 24 to try. I don't have a limiter on my motor so I can turn it a little more. Your Opti is limited at 5750 so I think the 24 may be a little small for you. Good luck and enjoy playing with your setup. I still mess with mine after 8 years of ownership. It's just a disease I guess. Let us know how it works out. Chris Coupel Paulina, La. |

Thanks for the responses. I have a New in box 25" Trophy on the way with the pvs plugs, blowout ring and Flo Torque II Hub assembly. It is coming from a
bass boats parts company and got at a very good price delivered. Hopefully I will get it set up right this time.....thanks again....BOB
