06 Puma 250 HPDI wont start????HELP No Trim either. |
Lead | |

My 06 Puma with a 250 HPDI after loading the boat last night and turning the key off, will not do anything. Tried to restart but the key does not do anything.
No trim switch anywhere in the boat works either. IS there a breaker anywhere that would control this?? I have been all over the boat and am confused as
ever. I have been in a Cat for nearly 16 years now and cant remember this ever happening to me. It acts like the battery is dead but Its new last month and I
swapped the leads from another battery and it still doesnt do anything. All the dealerships are closed for the 4th and night fishing is "ON" right
now. Any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED

Check your wiring harness at the engine and any potential fuse or fusible link that may be in the line. The security system you will have to ask Bass Cat.

it's a fuse, should be a 20 amp fuse inside a small fuse block. had same thing happen on my opti, a 30 cent fuse caused me a 9 mile tow back to the ramp.
pull all the fuses and visually check them.

where is the fuse block | ||
|
All I can find is a terminal block inside the well area on the front side of the transom and there are Zero fuses there. This is the craziest thing ever. I
have checked every fuse on the engine and they are all good. I would think there has to be something wired to the boat that is inside the boat. The only
breaker I can see on my Puma is the accessory C/B on the master switch panel.

You have blown a fuse under the engine cowling. On your engine we don't recall the location, though there will be one in there by the ECU (module)
somewhere.
Also check the battery terminals themselves for a loose or just not quite tight connection. |

You checked all the ones on the engine? Did you use a multimeter or did you visually pull them? The time this happened to me, the multimeter showed that i had continutity on the fuse because when you pressed the leads down into the top of the fuse it made the fuse make contact where it was broken. Took me a week to finally pull the fuses and bend them between my fingers to actually see the one that was broke. If I held it up and just loked at it, it looked perfectly fine. Either you have overlooked a fuse or have not checked the right fuse yet. This is not going to be a problem inside the boat unless its a battery issue, though I really doubt that. |
